Welcome
This site is dedicated to Class 40’s. I became drawn to “bashing” these EE type 4’s in the late 70’s and early 80’s, mainly because of the massive size, the hellfire noise and the fantastic following the class had, and they all enjoyed a good riot. I had worked out if I set out to school at my normal time I could pick up 1M43 at Kings Norton to New St to pick up some electric to Crewe just in time for 1D11 for some quality 40 haulage up the coast. I would jump off some where along the coast to pick up another 40 on 1D31 behind us. Bale off at the Junction and get 1A56 back (another 40) to Crewe for an electric back to New St. Back in time for tea. Miss spent youth or what? With the return of D345/40145 back to the main line, I decided it was time to get some of the old slides out of the loft and get them scanned to get these pages up and running.
